The Bird Steakhouse

Took a long time to get our food, which in the end wsa very good.

Usually I have a nice experience at The Bird but this time (first time in this one close to Hackescher Markt) wasn't good at all. Burgers were good but the Cesar salad was very disappointing (not tasty and overpriced). In addition it took us more than 45 minutes to be served, and there were no waiters around, so we had to stand up and go to the bar if we wanted to order something.

Es gab keine Steaks, es gab keine Ripps, es gab keine cocktail gläser, es gab keine Croutons. Bedienung war aber nett und die Burger sehr gut. Aber man kann nicht als steakhaus werben und dann überhaupt kein Fleisch haben.

Dieses Mal war der Besuch sehr enttäuschend! Der Kellner war unaufmerksam, vergaß mehrfach bestellte Drinks zu liefern und ließ auch mit der Rechnung lange auf sich warten. Sowohl Steak, als auch die vegetarische Burgeroption waren nicht verfügbar. Insbesondere ersteres ist in einem Steakhaus eher bitter. Der als Alternative zum vegetarischen burger bestellte Cesar Salad bestand lediglich aus Salatblättern und Parmesan. Hinzu kommen heute sehr lange Wartezeiten, ein kalter Gastraum und die fehlende Möglichkeit, mit Karte zu zahlen. The Bird kenne ich anders, insbesondere aus dem Stammhaus im Prenzlauer Berg. Dieser Besuch aber war eine absolute Enttäuschung. Schade, das geht besser.

We were told that they don't sell steaks anymore because they will close in some weeks. Chicken wIngs were out. There were only burgers. We waited kind of long. When I asked were my ordered drink is, is was told that it would be free, later I was charged for it.I did not complain about that, because after handing me over the cheque I haven't seen the waitress any more ...

Es gab keine Steaks in diesem Steakhaus und auch keinen Hinweis darauf in der Speisekarte oder sonst irgendwo. Erst als wir bestellen wollten, wurde uns gesagt, dass es fast nichts gibt das in der Karte steht.

Katastrophe! 2/3 der Speisen auf der Karte waren nicht verfügbar. Kalt, laut, unangenehmes Ambiente. Das Personal nicht mal mittelmäßig. Keine Kartenzahlung (bei einer großen Gruppe absolutes No-Go).

Die Atmosphäre erinnert deutlich mehr an die Zwischenlösung auf dem Kotti als das Original im Prenzlberg. Der dortige Charme wird hier bei weitem nicht erreicht. Burger gigantisch gut wie immer daher schon 5 Punkte. Sehr kalt war es. Ich gehe nächstes mal wieder im Prenzlberg...

This is the second time i visited the Bird Steakhouse, and on both occasions, there were no Steaks. I was told by the staff that if the quality is too low then they don't source steaks, but this didn't solve the problem that I went to a steak house to eat steak. In stead, I had a burger, which was great as promised, but it wasn't steak.

First the positives: 1. The food was very good, veryone enjoyed. 2. The staff was very friendly and understanding. The not-so-positives: 1. They had no steak.

As usual, one of the best burgers in Berlin. 5 just because they didn't take up the phone when we were calling. Everything else was great.

The meat was cooked on the outside but was raw on the inside - and it wasn’t juicy as promised, it crumbled away. Not to mention too spicy (read peppery) and the fries were overcooked. Wouldn’t recommend, try the Bird barbeque instead

They only had 1 of the 6 different steaks on the menu and the burger we ordered instead were raw inside.., The fries were dry also

Great dinner with my work colleagues everyone has enjoyed his burger and the fries. We did not have to wait so much and it was also possible to speak not loudly.

Extrem schlechter Service. Wir wurden ignoriert als wir den Kellner angesprochen haben. Es wurde nicht abgeräumt und nicht nachgefragt ob wir noch was trinken möchten, als die Gläser leer waren. Die Rechnung wurde uns mit einem genervten Blick hingeknallt. Die Teller sind sehr lieblos angerichtet. Es war sehr kalt. Insgesamt sehr enttäuschend, nachdem meine Erwartungen sehr hoch waren. Das Fleisch hingegen war super gut.

Meals were staggered and late, though the place was not busy. Staff not attentive. Bill was incorrect. They left things OFF the bill! Gave me more change back than they should. Amateurs. Feels like crap management or the business has been sold. My three friends didn't like their burgers. Tasted bland. We've all been to the original Bird many times. Never again. And play some decent fucking music. Too loud. Like bieing in a bar in the mid-west in the USA IN 1985. Boring!

The restaurant stank of drains. The food took way too long to arrive. The salad was a plate of lettuce and nothing else. There was glass in a drink. The waiter was intoxicated.

Great food. Great beer. We shared the ribs and meat platter between us, which were delightful. Unfortunately their card payment machine was not working the day that we went.

Great food, great service, great prices! Probably the best burger I’ve ever had. Staff were friendly but not always bothering us. Drinks were well made too!

Amazing. The place is way better than I was expecting. I went there with my boyfriend and we were amazed as soon as we step foot there. The people are super nice and you can see they really want you to have the best experience possible. The food was amazing as well, although a bit expensive for what I’m used to. Totally worth it anyway because of the whole experience. Would definitely recommend. Specially if you’re a steak lover and are looking for a good service.

The meat was overcooked even though we ordered medium rare. The Bird express is not as good as the one in Schönhauseallee. The quality of the meat is also not great.

Essen ist sehr gut. Besonders das Filetsteak war traumhalt. Ambiente ist ok, aber doch etwas "basic". Personal könnte kompeter sein. Wenn man einen Tisch für 2 Personen reserviert, möchte man keinen schlechten "Katzentisch" zugeteilt bekommen.

Friendly staff, great service, good drink selection and some of the best steak I’ve ever eaten! Fantastic restaurant! I’d definitely recommend to anyone visiting Berlin!

Wir waren wie immer sehr zufrieden. Die Burger waren sehr lecker, der Service war klasse & auch für unsere Vegetarierin wurde eine Alternative gefunden :)

Guter Service und entspannte Location im Herzen der Stadt. Perfekt um mit Freunden richtige Burger zu genießen und auch mal ein paar Bier oder mehr zu trinken-

Sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung, die, wie mittlerweile in Teilen Berlins üblich, nur englisch sprach. Sehr leckere Burger und Limonade. Einzig störend, der Kindergeburtstag am Nachbartisch, aber damit muss man in einem Burgerrestaurant wohl rechnen.

As always, The Bird doesn't fail to satisfy. Great that reservations can be made online now as well :) Great food, great staff, great beers!

der Service könnte etwas aufmerksamer sein. Zu viert sollten wir uns an einen relativ kleinen Tisch setzen, obwohl das Lokal relativ leer war. Es dauerte , bis wir die Bestellung und später unseren weiteren getränkewunsch aufgeben konnten.

The food arrived to our table almost 30 min after the order even though the place was almost empty. The filet was very good but the rib-eye is ranked pretty low. The waitress tried 3 times to take our plates and I had to tell her that the children still want to finish their fries. When I went with one of the kids to the bathroom she took everything including my beer. Makes no sense to go for high quality food, the place is simply for burgers I guess.
