my girlfriend and I had lunch at Batu, a cozy Southeast Asian restaurant tucked away in the vibrant streets of Prenzlauer Berg. We had walked past it a few times before and finally decided to give it a try — and we’re glad we did. The vibe of the place immediately stood out: warm lighting, minimalist yet stylish decor, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and we were seated quickly despite not having a reservation. I ordered the Knobi Sauce Fried Chicken, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in a garlicky sauce that packed just the right amount of heat and sweetness. It came with a side of jasmine rice and a fresh salad that balanced the richness of the dish. My girlfriend went for the Bún Chả, a Vietnamese classic — and Batu’s version didn’t disappoint. The grilled pork was tender and flavorful, served over vermicelli noodles with crunchy herbs, pickled veggies, and a delicious dipping sauce. She paired it with a chilled glass of white wine, which complemented the freshness of the dish beautifully. Portions were generous but not overwhelming, and everything tasted freshly made. The presentation was thoughtful, and the ingredients felt high quality throughout the meal. All in all, Batu is a fantastic spot for a casual lunch date or a laid-back dinner with friends. The food is authentic and full of flavor, and the setting makes you want to linger. We’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu.

Great Lunch Spot in Prenzlauer Berg I went for lunch and it was a great experience. The restaurant is located in a nice neighborhood in Prenzlauer Berg, close to my office, which makes it a convenient option. I had the crispy chicken breast with garlic curry and vegetables – flavorful and well-prepared. The space is quite open and comfortable, making it a pleasant place to sit and relax. I’ll definitely be happy to return!
